I collect objects and images, which I animate and stage. Whatever the subject I engage with—dreams, drag, the media, the universe of video games, adolescence, sexuality—I strive in each proposal to preserve the seed of a potential fiction for the viewer. Through a set of scenic processes, games, and strategies of distancing, I explore the possibilities for the development of a fiction entangled with reality, as if in latency, on the verge of emerging, and which the gaze or intervention of another might reveal. I select objects, postures, and real-life situations in which I perceive a capacity to assume the quality of a fetish—that is, a support sufficiently predisposed to receive a projection, a promise, a potential drift toward fiction. The installations I propose engage the audience in a process of identification, even an empathic one, which may, to a certain extent, reach the kind of empathy found in theatrical, cinematic, or video play. The work thus acts as a catalyst: everything is there, liable to appear, available to each individual—a virtual outcome.
